Louise Bennett

Dr. Bennett discusses her experiences caring for refugee families in Rochester, N.Y. She is the Medical Director of Westside Health Services Refugee Health Program which provides care for over 1500 patients, and has spent several months doing medical work in Kenya and Tanzania in 2005 and 2007. She believes that successful refugee health care must include not only a knowledge of tropical medicine, but also a blend of cultural sensitivity and competency and a public health perspective.
